New apprentices join the 2Excel team at Lasham

2Excel is investing in the future sustainability of the UK Aviation Industry, and the Company believes that one of the best ways to do this is via apprenticeships and mentoring to develop the expertise and knowledge required to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

Each year, our award-winning Apprenticeship Scheme provides hands-on learning, supported by our team of highly skilled and experienced engineers and technicians, many of whom are former apprentices who learned their craft with us here at Lasham.

September sees our new apprentices embarking upon their careers in aviation to become an integral part of 2Excel’s flexible and transparent service-oriented engineering support to airlines, leasing companies, governments, private owners, and the Group’s own fleet.

HR Manager, Henrik Winberg, said: “We first had the chance to meet our new cohort of apprentices when they attended our careers open day back in February.

“Seeing the operation and the range of aircraft that we maintain, as well as speaking with those already at work here, then sparked their interest and started the application process.

“They are now taking the first step on their careers in the aviation engineering industry with our growing successful maintenance and repair organisation.

“Apprenticeships are a great way to grow talent and future proof our business, especially in an industry that continually faces challenges from an ageing workforce and a skills shortage.”
