Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Apprentice

We are seeking applicants for a brand new and exciting NDT apprenticeship we’re launching at 2Excel Engineering, with a target start date of September 2020, in line with the academic year.

2Excel Engineering is a Maintenance and Repair Organisation for aircraft based in Lasham, Hampshire.  We have established ourselves as the independent partner of choice for Boeing and Airbus aircraft maintenance, and we look after smaller aircraft too.  The NDT team are tasked with carrying out a range of non destructive testing techniques on aircraft and aircraft parts, which includes, but not limited to, ultrasonic, radiographic and liquid penetrant testing. 

Through this apprenticeship scheme, you will be mentored by our NDT team and carry out on the job training, whilst studying towards your apprenticeship qualification through our partner training provider.  At the end of the apprenticeship, you will have acquired new abilities to support your career including theoretical, practical and behavioural skills and be able to apply for role permanent roles within the NDT Team and further NDT qualifications. 

We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who not only want to develop a career in NDT but who have a passion for aviation too.   You will be self motivated, have the ability to think independently, show initiative and have excellent attention to detail.  In addition, you will be an excellent and confident communicator.

Successful applicants will be invited to join us for work experience, typically 3 days, during which time you will be assessed for your suitability to join as an apprentice and have an interview. 

Please note, any offer is subject to being considered suitable for enrolment on the selected apprenticeship standard, which will be determined by our Training Provider.   You must have achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English GCSE to qualify.
