Established in 2015 and building on more than 60 years of engineering excellence, 2Excel Engineering is a Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) based in Hampshire, delivering service-orientated narrow body Boeing and Airbus maintenance to Operators and Owners, Leasing Companies and Governments. 

Due to the impending retirement of the current postholder, we are now looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team.

Reporting directly to the CEO and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Commercial Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and supervision of the commercial team to provide effective interfaces and working relationships with customers, develop new business opportunities and promote/manage the commercial developments of the business.

The day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring that their Department complies with the Company’s policies, values, philosophy and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining the Commercial Department procedures to reduce risk, wasted time and wasted manpower resources and, to recover costs.
  • Line management of direct reports (currently a team of 4). Including conducting appraisals, performance development reviews and performance management reviews.
  • Promoting the Company’s existing and evolving capabilities in the marketplace.
  • Delivering and promulgating appropriate, correct, deliverable and timely General Trading Agreements (GTAs), commercial contracts, estimates, invoices and reports.
  • Maintaining a functional, live database of all customer sales enquiries.
  • Keeping the Company’s Management Board abreast of all commercial developments and potential developments in a timely manner.

 The successful applicant will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Management experience within an aviation (preferably MRO) setting.
  • Strong negotiation skills, contract interpretation and understanding.
  • Experience of working in a Commercial or Sales capacity within an MRO.
  • Have exceptional communication skills and be confident liaising with Stakeholders at all levels.
  • Be able to confidently deliver analytical reports, presentations and effectively interpret and manage complex contract agreements.
  • Be highly organised, flexible and enthusiastic.
  • Be able to manage a changeable workload and priorities.
