Lead Airfield Operations Co-ordinator

Full-time (Permanent) Lasham, Hampshire

Established in 2015 and building on more than 60 years of engineering excellence, 2Excel Engineering is a fast-growing Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) based in Hampshire, delivering service-orientated narrow body Boeing and Airbus Maintenance to Operators and Owners, Leasing Companies and Governments.

We are now looking to appoint a Lead Airfield Operations Co-ordinator to join us on a permanent basis.

The Lead Airfield Operations Co-ordinator is responsible for:

  • Reducing the risk in airfield operations to as low as reasonably practical (ALARP)
  • Provision of accurate and comprehensive briefing material to all crews visiting Lasham;
  • Liaison with the Lasham Gliding Society and other airspace users and service providers to enhance air safety;
  • On site control of Company support to Company and Customer flying operations in coordination with relevant internal departments.
  • Carry out air to ground procedures for heavy aircraft arrivals and departures
  • Coordination between crews and local Air Traffic Management Service Providers for heavy aircraft departures.
  • Acting as Chief Fire Officer, co-ordinating the fire crew when required and ensuring that all fire crew equipment is fit for purpose.  
  • Oversight and control of aircraft fuelling and assets, managing and maintaining compliance with current Fuel regulations
  • Supervising a small team who maintain our GSE and Company vehicles
  • Monitoring the Lasham airfield infrastructure and operating surfaces for their continued serviceability
  • Developing and maintaining our Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
  • Conducting and maintaining Airfield Risk Assessments
  • Running of the airfield operations Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings

The successful candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • You must be a brilliant communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of our Company and our customers.
  • You must be able to solve problems appropriately and sometimes under pressure.
  • You should be happy to have a hands on and practical approach to the majority of your workload.
  • You should have a passion for aviation and/or airfields and already have developed enough knowledge of CAA Procedures to give you a good foundation to take on this role.  
  • Previous experience in an Air to Ground operations role highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role is also desirable although we will consider applications from those with transferrable skills from different roles.
  • Previous Management experience also highly desirable.
