In 2017, 2Excel Engineering, the independent partner of choice for Boeing and Airbus aircraft maintenance and repair in the UK and Europe, launched an apprenticeship scheme.
Today, in recognition of National Apprenticeship Week, 2Excel Engineering celebrates its 17 apprentices who are working hard to learn about the craftmanship of aircraft engineering and the company that mentors them. The company is continually investing in its future in many ways, and its apprenticeship scheme is one part of the organisation which is growing year-on-year.
Over a five-week period starting the 10th February, 2Excel Engineering will welcome 22 male and female students to Lasham Airfield for work experience. A number of these students will then return in September to start their apprenticeships with 2Excel Engineering.
2Excel’s Group HR Director, Louise Campbell said: ‘‘We are proud to support such a worthy and rewarding scheme, in conjunction with CEMAST at Fareham College. Our scheme provides an invaluable opportunity for young people to practice their knowledge on the job. We are also proud the pay our apprentices above the minimum wage. With exemplary support from a team of mentors at 2Excel Engineering, we’ve found this scheme to be very popular among our apprentices and workforce. In September, we look forward to welcoming this year’s new apprentices and the graduation of our first cohort of apprentices, whom we hope will continue their careers with 2Excel.’’
